Squirrel-chasing dog’s high flight surprises owner A playful squirrel-chasing dog named Tiger made headlines after climbing a 50-foot-high tree while chasing a squirrel on his family’s property at Wabamun Lake, west of Edmonton.

A normal day turned into a major feat for a squirrel-chasing dog

Tiger, a one-year-old coonhound cross, was enjoying her favourite activity of chasing squirrels on Sunday when things took an unexpected turn. According to her owner, Sasha Marks, Tiger was focusing on a squirrel in the spruce trees as usual.

“I went outside with her, and she was looking at a squirrel,” Marks said. “I walked away a little bit, and when I turned around, my squirrel-chasing dog was missing.”

When Marks looked up, she couldn’t believe her eyes. Her squirrel-chasing dog, named Tiger, was sitting 50 feet up in a willow tree — something she had never done before.

“When they got there and saw the situation, they said, ‘Yeah, it’s a dog up in a tree,'” Marks said. Firefighters were equally shocked by the skuirrel-chasing dog’s determination, but got to work to save him.

Rescuers used a ladder to get Tiger down safely. Marks explained how his squirrel-chasing dog was relieved to be taken down and safe, although he was a little cold.

“Tiger was happy to be back on solid ground,” Marks said. “But I’m nervous about letting my squirrel-chasing dog go near that tree off-leash again. Now that she knows she can climb it, I’m afraid she’ll try to do it again.” Squirrel-chasing dogs learns a lesson Tiger’s climbing adventure ended safely,

but Marks hopes her squirrel-chasingg dog has learned that climbing trees isn’t as easy as it seems. For now, Tiger’s actions serve as a reminder of just how far a playful dog will go to chase a squirrel. This unforgettable adventure shows that a determined squirrel-chasingg dog can really aim high – sometimes too high!
